Frequently Asked Questions:

RULES AND POLICIES:  No Dogs or smoking allowed in the house.

Is the trip north mostly interstate?  1/2 and 1/2.  Hwy. 41 North will get you to Appleton and then beautiful country roads the remaining hour and a half.  Hint:  Appleton is an excellent place for a potty break.

Does the lake house have well water? Is it drinkable?  It is well water, but we are on the same aquifer as the Nicolet Bottled Water Company and our water is absolutely EXCELLENT and drinkable.  Check out Nicolet Forest Bottling Company.

I forgot something.  I need something.  Is there a retail store near by?   There are several stores near by--Walmart, Walgreens, Lakewood Super Valu, and Witt's Piggly Wiggly.

Do you require a deposit on the rental?  Yes, a $100 deposit will be required and returned the week after the guests depart.

What items do we need to bring along?   Please bring all your food, drinks, toiletries, bug spray, sun tan lotion, and other items that you'd need for a seasonal place "up north" by a lake and National Forest.  It's the honor system, so if you use our toilet paper, paper towels, condiments, etc., please replace accordingly.

Can we burn your firewood inside and outside?  No, please bring your own wood along.  You will pass several places on the way up where you can buy wood.  If you need to use ours, forget, or run out, please call Dave and we will sell some to you.

How is the swimming in Grindle Lake?   Grindle is a "spring fed" lake and it's beautiful.  By our property, there are some leaves on the bottom, but we are also located right next door to the Public Boat Landing, and that's where our family typically swims.  Also, our property is very private and secluded from the boat landing with several oak, maple and pine trees.

Do we need to clean the place when we leave?  We do have a manager helping us rent and maintain the place, but ultimately, yes, please clean up after yourselves.  However, please just take the sheets and pillow cases off of the beds as we prefer to take care of that.  Thanks.

What should we do with our garbage when we leave?  Inside the green shed closest to the house are several garbage cans marked with the appropriate labels for garbage, glass, plastic, tin, aluminum, etc.  Leave your garbage there and we will have it taken to the dump.

What activities are allowed on Grindle Lake?  Our lake is a "no wake" lake and no speed boats, jet skis, etc. are allowed.  However, there are "several" lakes within a few miles of us that are bigger and more recreational.  Our lake is mainly for fishing and relaxation.

What time do we need to depart the premises on our final day?  Noonish is fine so our cleaning people can prepare for the next visitors.
